Is a shared coach or a private car cheaper from Keflavík?+
The coach, for one or two people. We should be straight about it: most of what we hold on the Keflavík run is booked by the vehicle rather than by the seat. A car is a fixed price whoever is in it, so it divides: our cheapest is €130, which is €33 a head for four. Below three people a scheduled coach seat is cheaper than anything we can offer you, and we would rather say so than sell you the wrong thing.
How long does the Keflavík to Reykjavík transfer take?+
About 45 to 50 minutes by car, and nearer an hour and a quarter on a scheduled coach once it has called at several hotels. Allow more in winter weather. Coming back, be at the airport two and a half hours before a Schengen flight and three for anything else.
What if my flight is delayed?+
A private transfer tracks the flight number you give at booking and waits — that is most of what you are paying for. A scheduled coach runs to a timetable, so a long delay means taking the next departure. Give us the flight number when you book and the driver will be there whenever you actually land.
Do I need to book an airport transfer in advance?+
For a car, yes — there are only so many on the road and they go on busy evenings, and the price does not improve at the desk. We sell 320 transfers from 47 operators, and most allow free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead, so booking early costs nothing.
Is there a bus from Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík?+
Yes — scheduled coaches meet every arrival, including the small-hours ones, and run to the BSÍ terminal in central Reykjavík, with a connecting minibus to most hotels for a little more. There is no train, and no city bus worth the hour it takes with luggage. What we sell on this route is the car version — a fixed price, booked ahead, waiting when you land.
How much is a taxi or Uber from Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík?+
There is no Uber or Lyft in Iceland — ride-hailing never launched here, so every result promising one is wrong. That leaves a metered taxi from the rank, which on a 50-kilometre run is the most expensive way to reach the city, or the same journey booked ahead at a fixed price. Ours start at €130 for the whole vehicle, whether two of you get in or five, with a driver holding your name rather than a meter you watch.
Can I stop at the Blue Lagoon on the way from the airport?+
Yes, and it is the one detour that saves time rather than costing it: the lagoon sits between Keflavík and Reykjavík, so stopping on the way in means you are not driving back out to it on a later day. It is the cheapest car we have on the route, because it is half the distance. The lagoon has luggage lockers precisely because so many people arrive straight off a flight.
