About this experience

Take a slower, more relaxing journey into East Iceland with a private geothermal escape from Seyðisfjörður Cruise Port.

Your local driver-guide will meet you at the port before heading out of the colourful fjord town toward Gufufoss, one of the most scenic waterfalls near Seyðisfjörður. After a short and easy photo stop, we continue across Fjarðarheiði mountain pass, where the landscape opens up from steep fjord walls to the inland views around Egilsstaðir and Lake Urriðavatn.

The main experience of the tour is Vök Baths, a peaceful geothermal bathing destination set on the edge of Lake Urriðavatn. Here, you can unwind in warm pools, enjoy the lake views, move between the bathing areas at your own pace, and experience a calmer side of East Iceland.

After your time at Vök Baths, we return directly to Seyðisfjörður Cruise Port. The tour is private, easy-paced and planned around your ship’s schedule, making it ideal for travellers who want beautiful scenery, geothermal relaxation and a comfortable shore excursion without a long hike.

Warm clothing is recommended for before and after bathing, especially on windy or cold days. Sandals or flip-flops, sunglasses, sunscreen and a camera are also recommended.

This is an easy-paced tour with minimal walking. Guests should be comfortable entering and exiting the geothermal baths independently.

Your guide will drive you to Vök Baths, assist with check-in and confirm the meeting time for the return journey. The guide does not enter the baths with guests.

The tour is suitable for most travellers, but it is not fully wheelchair accessible unless arranged in advance. Travellers with serious medical conditions, heart conditions or concerns about using hot geothermal baths should consult their doctor before booking.

Children are welcome, but they must be supervised by an adult at all times at Vök Baths. Booster seats are available on request and must be requested before the tour.

The itinerary and timing may be adjusted depending on weather, road conditions, Vök Baths availability and the ship’s schedule. For cruise guests, the tour is planned with a safe return buffer to Seyðisfjörður Cruise Port.
