Ístex Lopi runs sightseeing day tours, private in Reykjavík, starting from Mosfellsbær. We book them directly, so what you see here is their own availability and their own cancellation policy — at the same price you'd pay them.
“Ístex was established to carry on the Icelandic wool industry that started in Mosfellsbær in 1896. Ístex buys directly from farmers and processes about 99% of all Icelandic wool. Icelandic farmers own more than 80% of the company. Ístex produces knitting yarn made of Icelandic wool, for example, Álafosslopi, Einband, Jöklalopi, Léttlopi, and Plötulopi. We offer now our brand new Factory Visit Tour in Mosfellsbær”

All of the above is computed from Ístex Lopi's own 2 product records, not from a questionnaire. Fleet size and typical group sizes are the figures a comparison table usually shows; Bókun does not carry them, so we would be guessing, and we would rather leave a gap than fill it in.
From the operator's own Bókun vendor record. The year is when the company's registration number was issued, which is the closest thing to a founding date that can be checked at skatturinn.is; the brand may be older or younger than the company. Their own site: istex.is — same price there as here.
Google reviews of Ístex Lopi as a company — not of one specific tour.
The wool factory tour is amazing! Great way to learn about Iceland, one of its oldest products, and how the wool economy works. Our tour guide was excellent! Highly recommend!!!!

Thanks so much for showing us around. It was great to see your processes and ask questions.

We enjoyed the factory tour and guide immensely. Gives a wider understanding of how yarn is processed. Well worth the effort to attend a tour.

We made the short drive from Reykjavik to this factory on our first full day in Iceland and it was a great start to our trip! As an avid knitter, the main motivator for my coming to Iceland was the deep rooted history of Icelandic wool and knitting traditions. Our tour group was very small so we were able to ask as many questions as we liked and really take our time with the tour. Watching the giant machines from the 70s transform raw, washed wool into yarn was exciting and engaging. We learned about the opportunities and challenges facing the wool industry and learned all about the silly little requirements for pricing and selling wool yarn. It’s important to note than you cannot buy any yarn at this location but we picked up a handful of skeins at the Handknitters Association of Iceland to bring home. This is a great way to experience the culture of Iceland!

No. We sell Ístex Lopi's tours at the price they set, through their own booking system, so the seat costs the same here as on their site. What you get here in addition is one checkout for every tour in your trip, whoever runs it, and one place to turn if plans change.
None of the 2 Ístex Lopi tours we sell includes a hotel pickup. Each tour page gives the meeting point — they start from Mosfellsbær.
Their departures we sell start from Mosfellsbær. Check the map on each tour page for the exact meeting point.
Their tours are guided in English and Icelandic, according to their own product records. Where a tour is audio-guided rather than led by a person, the tour page says so.
Yes, on 2 of their 2 tours, the lowest being 8. The rest set no minimum. The planner filters by your youngest traveller if you give it ages.
4.2 out of 5 on Google from 9 reviews of the company. That is the operator's score, not a rating of any one tour; our own guests' reviews of their tours, where we have them, are shown on this page and on the tour pages.
Not sure which of these fits your dates? The planner checks real departures and builds the day around them.
