Mývatn Öl runs sightseeing day tours, food & drink in North Iceland, starting from Mývatn. We book them directly, so what you see here is their own availability and their own cancellation policy — at the same price you'd pay them.
“Mývatn Öl is a family-owned craft brewery located in the heart of North Iceland’s volcanic landscape, near the stunning Lake Mývatn. Founded in 2022 with a passion for quality and creativity. The brewery takes inspiration from the surrounding nature, with each beer named after a landmark in the Mývatn area. Mývatn Öl was founded as an offshoot of Sel-Hótel Mývatn, sharing the same dedication to local authenticity, craftsmanship, and warm hospitality.”

All of the above is computed from Mývatn Öl's own 2 product records, not from a questionnaire. Fleet size and typical group sizes are the figures a comparison table usually shows; Bókun does not carry them, so we would be guessing, and we would rather leave a gap than fill it in.

From the operator's own Bókun vendor record. The year is when the company's registration number was issued, which is the closest thing to a founding date that can be checked at skatturinn.is; the brand may be older or younger than the company. Their own site: myvatnol.is — same price there as here.

Our tour group stopped here for lunch.
Food: 5/5 I ordered their homemade lamb soup and smoked trout on rye bread. Both were delicious. The soup came with homemade bread. They also offer sandwiches and pastries. Also a glass of the beer was tasty.
Service: 5/5 server was nice and friendly
Atmosphere: 5/5 lots of seating. The seating in the back had a nice view of the pseudo craters across the street.
The eatery is located across the Sel hotel which has a souvenir shop selling tshirts, postcards, and snacks. They also sell stamps for the postcards which has a post box outside the main entrance.

Little gift shop and cafe.
There are craters outside to visit and walk and get to know
We had delicious lamb soup that is unlimited includes bread and coffee.
The cashier was so sweet and nice
There is also a brewery inside so it's worth ordering one of their beers.
Shop is not as expensive as other gift shops around

An unexpected hidden gem! Finding six of their own craft beers on tap inside a remote souvenir shop was such a pleasant surprise.

We accidentally stopped here on our way to Akureyi. What a fantastic accident! We ordered 2 Geysir IPA beers and the meat soup. Both were out of this world delicious and as an added bonus: for 2990 ikr you get unlimited refills of the soup, bread, water and coffee/tea. Would 100% reccomend.

No. We sell Mývatn Öl's tours at the price they set, through their own booking system, so the seat costs the same here as on their site. What you get here in addition is one checkout for every tour in your trip, whoever runs it, and one place to turn if plans change.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start. The exact window is printed on every tour page and in your confirmation, and a refund goes back to the card you paid with.

How is Mývatn Öl rated?+
4.6 out of 5 on Google from 128 reviews of the company. That is the operator's score, not a rating of any one tour; our own guests' reviews of their tours, where we have them, are shown on this page and on the tour pages.
Not sure which of these fits your dates? The planner checks real departures and builds the day around them.
