Saga Museum

Saga Museum runs city tours in Reykjavík, starting from Reykjavík. We book them directly, so what you see here is their own availability and their own cancellation policy — at the same price you'd pay them.

“The Saga Museum intimately recreates key moments in Icelandic history, moments that have determined the fate of our people and which give a compelling view into how Icelanders have lived for more than a millenium.”

All of the above is computed from Saga Museum's own 1 product records, not from a questionnaire. Fleet size and typical group sizes are the figures a comparison table usually shows; Bókun does not carry them, so we would be guessing, and we would rather leave a gap than fill it in.

This is such an incredibly fun museum! Wonderful way to make history come to life - my husband and I went with our 2 teens, and we all loved it! The displays are eerily realistic, the audio tour was full of fascinating history, and we had a blast dressing as Vikings at the end! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and let us take our time to enjoy everything. Great gift shop too - we ended up returning for a few things on our last day in Iceland because they had some fun and unique items we didn't see in other more touristy shops. 10/10!

This Viking museum may be small but it is really interesting, the display people are all human sized and soooo life like, some even breathe! The free audio guide was also very informative and thus very useful. Ticket prices were £24pp The staff were very helpful and friendly, there is also a very good gift shop. But the best part was being able to play Vikings! Real chainmail, real helmets, real swords and axes, authentic clothing! The only thing we chose not to do was to go pillaging as the outside world was in blizzard conditions!

A small museum near the harbor in Reykjavík, offering a fascinating look into the history of Iceland. It features a self-guided tour with headphones, as well as a dedicated area where visitors can try on historical clothing, armor, and weapons for photos. I would definitely recommend it.

Very interesting little museum. Everything is explained by audio guide. One can dress up as a viking and take a photo.
