From the operator's own Bókun vendor record. The year is when the company's registration number was issued, which is the closest thing to a founding date that can be checked at skatturinn.is; the brand may be older or younger than the company. We did the Laki crates tour with the amazing David.
The tour was a great experience. We had so much fun in the beautiful Laki landscapes which includes the mountain Laki, several craters, several lakes, a canyon and a waterfall.
David was an integral part of the experience - with interesting stories, great knowledge about the area, smooth driving and great sense of humor - we had a lot of fun with him.
We almost didn't realize the tour was about 8.5 hours, because we really enjoyed this day.
Unforgettable and unique - don't miss it!

The pickup went smoothly. We were collected at Tjaldstæðið Kirkjubær II, cottages and camping by Trausti with his impressive off-roader. From there, we headed straight into the highlands. On the way, Trausti shared fascinating and engaging stories about Iceland’s volcanoes.
The highland area, only accessible via F-roads, is truly breathtaking — it feels as if you’ve landed on another planet. During this one-day excursion, we made several stops and were able to visit many rare spots and highlights. We are still amazed by this experience.
We were a small group, a total of four couples, which made the trip very pleasant (unlike the typical mass-tourism spots). Trausti is an excellent guide, extremely knowledgeable, drives with absolute safety, and gave us one of the most memorable experiences in Iceland.
The value for money is outstanding for what you get — for us, this trip is a true insider tip.

It's a trully personal, impressive experience to discover the real Iceland. I've felt the excitement of being on an adventure as when I was a child. Since the begining, Trasti has been an excelent guide providing deep knowledge of local history and geology, altogether with delicate attention and a very human sensibility for the territory. We've been taken to remotest, beautiful landscapes, had time to experience it without rush, tailored to our needs. It's not like other massive turistic tours.
This is a experience for those who want to discover the real Icelan behind touristic places. Beautiful, wild, and heart-touching. You are in the best hands, open your eyes and prepare for a day you will remember!

Above expectations ! David is an excellent guide and storyteller. Tour is well balanced between hikes and car traveling. We went with 2 kids (10y & 6y) old and they loved it.

Our guides that weigh up Secret Iceland
Where we compare their tours with the alternatives — including when we say to book someone else.
No. We sell Secret Iceland's tours at the price they set, through their own booking system, so the seat costs the same here as on their site. What you get here in addition is one checkout for every tour in your trip, whoever runs it, and one place to turn if plans change.
Does Secret Iceland pick up from hotels?+
2 of their 2 tours include a pickup service. Each tour page says which, and pickup is chosen at checkout.
What is Secret Iceland's cancellation policy?+
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start. The exact window is printed on every tour page and in your confirmation, and a refund goes back to the card you paid with.
Where do Secret Iceland tours start?+
Their departures we sell start from Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Check the map on each tour page for the exact meeting point.
Which languages are Secret Iceland tours guided in?+
Their tours are guided in English and Icelandic, according to their own product records. Where a tour is audio-guided rather than led by a person, the tour page says so.
How is Secret Iceland rated?+
5.0 out of 5 on Google from 32 reviews of the company. That is the operator's score, not a rating of any one tour; our own guests' reviews of their tours, where we have them, are shown on this page and on the tour pages.
Not sure which of these fits your dates? The planner checks real departures and builds the day around them.
