Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime Icelandic expedition into the path of totality during the Total Solar Eclipse of August 12th, 2026. As the moon’s shadow moves across the North Atlantic, we will leave Reykjavík behind and journey through Iceland’s dramatic landscapes in search of the best possible eclipse viewing conditions.Our primary destination is the breathtaking Snæfellsnes Peninsula, a region known for its volcanic coastlines, rugged sea cliffs, lava fields, glacier views, and raw Icelandic beauty. With landmarks such as Lóndrangar rising above the Atlantic Ocean, the peninsula offers a truly unforgettable backdrop for one of nature’s rarest events.Because Icelandic weather can change rapidly, this experience is designed as a weather-adaptive eclipse expedition rather than a fixed sightseeing itinerary. Our operations team will continuously monitor cloud and weather forecasts before departure to maximize the chances of clear eclipse visibility. Depending on conditions, the route may be adjusted toward another carefully selected viewing area within the path of totality, including regions along Iceland’s South Coast or Reykjanes Peninsula.Departing Reykjavík early in the morning, this full-day experience is built around comfortably positioning ourselves for the eclipse rather than rushing between attractions. Once we reach the selected viewing area, guests will have time to relax, take in the surrounding scenery, enjoy picnic-style refreshments, and fully embrace the unique atmosphere leading up to totality.Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the surrounding landscape on foot, including an optional scenic walk toward the dramatic coastal cliffs of Lóndrangar, located approximately 30 minutes from the viewing area.As daylight slowly fades and the temperature drops, witness the surreal moment when the moon completely covers the sun and Iceland briefly falls into twilight beneath the glowing solar corona. For many travelers, a total solar eclipse is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Experiencing it surrounded by Iceland’s wild landscapes makes it even more extraordinary.This tour includes transportation from Reykjavík, eclipse viewing glasses, picnic-style refreshments, and guidance from our experienced local team throughout the journey.Please note that eclipse visibility cannot be guaranteed due to weather conditions, and the route or viewing location may change on the day of departure in order to provide the best possible viewing experience.

This is a full-day expedition and return time to Reykjavík may vary depending on weather, traffic, and eclipse-related road conditions. Due to the expected high traffic across Iceland during the eclipse, arrival back in Reykjavík may be later than initially planned.
Guests should be prepared to spend several hours outdoors in Icelandic weather conditions. Warm, windproof, and waterproof clothing is strongly recommended.
We recommend bringing additional snacks or a packed meal for extra comfort during the day.
The route and viewing location may change on the day of departure based on cloud and weather forecasts in order to maximize the chances of clear eclipse visibility.
Eclipse visibility cannot be guaranteed due to Iceland’s unpredictable weather conditions.
Some walking on uneven terrain may be required depending on the selected viewing location.
Restroom stops will be available during the journey, but facilities in remote areas may be limited.

What a great tour at such a reasonable price! Went on the Golden Circle 9 hour tour today with Daniel (the guide) and Pavel (the driver). We survived so Pavel's obviously a good driver 😉 but the amount of information Daniel knew (despite not being a native Icelander) was astounding and presented in a very accessible manner. We had the cruise ship terminal pickup tour but they also pickup all around Reykjavík. Highly recommended to anyone looking for excellent value for money and a really interesting tour. We'll definitely use them again when we return to Iceland.

I did the Golden Circle with Surprise Tour in Reykjavik with tour guide Viktoria and driver Pawel on June 10, 2026. The tour totally exceeded my expectations. Viktoria was engaging and energetic and gave us information throughout the tour that was interesting and filled with humor. An added bonus is that she is a very good singer. Our driver Pawel was very courteous and helpful. They went out of their way to route the tour to try to minimized crowds and this was greatly appreciated by all. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Icelandic Adventure👌 If you’re in Reykjavik, stop scrolling and book this Golden Circle tour. Seriously 😉 Our guide, Thales, was an absolute legend. The man is a walking encyclopedia of Icelandic lore, but with way better jokes. He turned a scenic drive into a full-on masterclass about the land of fire and ice. The amazing stuff: Þingvellir: Walked between continents Geysir: Got some epic "eruption" videos Gullfoss: Absolutely mystical and magical Kerið Crater: amazing view from the top The "Surprise" (The Legend of the Shark): 🦈 The itinerary mentioned a "small local surprise." Thales whipped out some fermented shark. Let’s just say it’s a... unique culinary experience that stays with you (mostly in your nose). 🤣It was the highlight of the trip and had the whole bus laughing. An unforgettable day with a world-class guide. 10/10 highly recommend! 🤌👌🫶
