Eyja is a boutique hotel in Reykjavík, thoughtfully designed, effortlessly welcoming, and right where you want to be.

With 65 rooms, each with its own private bathroom, the hotel offers a calm place to land after a day in the city. Downstairs, you’ll find a bar where you can settle in for a drink or something light, think warming soups and grilled sandwiches, simple and satisfying. There’s also a gym on-site, for those who like to keep things moving between moments of slowing down.

We sit just off Laugavegur, close enough for the buzz, far enough for a good night’s sleep. Hlemmur Square is around the corner, and if you look up, Esja is always part of the view.

Inside, everything is designed to feel considered but never complicated. Natural materials, pieces with a story, and details that make the space feel warm rather than styled. The beds are generous, the atmosphere relaxed, and the whole place leans more “stay a while” than “just passing through.”
